Our Beliefs

  • The Scriptures

The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the fully inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

  • The Trinity

There is but one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus

Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. The shedding of His blood and subsequent resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. After His bodily resurrection, He ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of God, His place is now as our High Priest and Advocate.

  • Sin & Salvation

Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin, so that every person is separated from God, and by nature sinful and lost. Only those who trust in Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and become children of God.

  • The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and by His powerful work regenerates sinners, awakening them to repentance and faith, bringing them into union with the Lord Jesus, such that they are justified before God by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. As a result, each believer is indwelt and sealed at the moment of salvation by the Holy Spirit until the day of the redemption of his body.

  • The Church

The true church is not an organization but a living organism comprised of all believers. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and the local church is the expression, in any locality, of the true Church, having the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs through the leadership of elders. Water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church. They are not regarded as means of salvation.

  • The Return Of Christ

We believe in the imminent, physical return of Christ to establish his rule on the earth.

  • Eternal Life

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead: the believer to everlasting life with the Lord in an eternal kingdom; the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment away from the presence of the Lord.

Our Values

For God’s Good Pleasure, Centerpoint Church Exists To…

Worship Together,

Strengthen Each Other,

& Share With Our World (1 Corinthians 10:31).

A Lifestyle Of Worship

We are committed to acknowledging our Triune God’s supreme value and worth in our personal lives and in the corporate, contemporary worship of our church (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:10-17).

Sound Biblical Teaching

We are committed to acknowledging the value of God’s Word at work in the hearts of His people by providing clear and accurate communication of God’s Word from qualified teachers (Colossians 1:25-29; 1 Timothy 1:5; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 4:1-5; Titus 2:1; 1 Peter 4:11).

Life

We are committed to acknowledging that all human life is created in the image of God, thus worthy of protecting, nurturing, and flourishing from conception to natural death. Each individual, regardless of economic class, race, education level, gender, or age, deserves the respect and honor associated with the image they bear (Genesis 1:26-28; Exodus 20:13; James 3:8-10; 1 Peter 2:17; 1 John 2:9-10). We also celebrate and support families, because we believe this is the God-given structure for the creation, nurturing, and flourishing of life (Genesis 2:24; Joshua 24:15; Ephesians 5:22-33; 6:1-4).

Shared Leadership

We are committed to acknowledging Christ’s leadership of the church through a plurality of under-shepherds, that is, a plurality of male elders (Jeremiah 3:15; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4).

Christ-Centered Community

We are committed to acknowledging that the church is the body of Christ enjoying fellowship with one another that is relational and sacrificial (John 13:35; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 4:1-16; Philippians 2:1-11; Hebrews 3:13; 1 Peter 1:22-25; 1 John 1:3).

A Church of Servants

We are committed to acknowledging that the Church is called by Christ to demonstrate love to others, both inside and outside the church. This love, although taking many forms, most often is demonstrated through humble service (1 Corinthians 12:7; Galatians 5:13-14; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Peter 4:8-11).

Impacting Our World for Christ

We are committed to acknowledging the global need for Christ by reaching those outside our church, in our own community, in our member’s communities, and around the world with the gospel of grace (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Colossians 4:2-6; 1 Peter 3:13-15).

Our Worship

At Centerpoint Church, we worship through music and prayer, blending hymns and contemporary songs to glorify God and creating space for heartfelt prayer. We encourage our congregation to praise Him daily and lift up our church, missionaries, ministries, and the world.

Worship in Music

Centerpoint Church’s Praise Team, made up of dedicated core and rotating members, uses both hymns and contemporary songs to express devotion to God, following Colossians 3:16.

Worship in Prayer

Following 1 Timothy 2:8, our services include opportunities for men to lead in prayer, while encouraging all members to pray daily for God’s praise, our church family, missionaries, ministries, and the world.

Worship in the Lord’s Supper

Recognizing that the Lord’s Supper was an integral part of early church worship (1 Cor 11:17-24), Centerpoint includes this remembrance as part of our weekly worship service. We believe it is valuable to do this often because it keeps our focus on the central issue of our faith – Christ and His death for us.
