In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus spelled out the high standards required for his followers. These standards are not easy to obey and may even lead to persecution. In light of this, we may be asking the question, “Why should I follow Jesus if his path is so difficult?” Jesus addresses this question and gives compelling reasons for us to submit to him and obey him with our whole heart.
