Already anticipating his death, Jesus prepares his disciples to carry on in his absence. He sends them out with his message and his authority to continue his work. Like those first disciple, we too are sent out to represent Jesus. We are sent out into the world with the good news of Jesus. As we go, what can we expect? Jesus answers that question for them and for us in Matthew 10. We will find his answer both sobering and encouraging.
