Good food, gifts, time off of school and work, decorations, music and friends are all wonderful aspects of the spirit of the season. They are to be enjoyed, with gratitude to our God, in celebration of the gift of His son. Having said that, a look at the familiar account of that first Christmas gives us a more accurate picture of the spirit of Christmas. We will see from this narrative what values are important to God and will be challenged to make these values important to us as well. The more we align ourselves with the heart of God shown in Luke 2, the more we will demonstrate the true Christmas spirit. Luke 2:1-20
