Hello Centerpoint Family,

After a whirlwind of events, we will be “back to normal” THIS Sunday, February 13th for ALL morning services (followed by a fellowship meal).

We want to thank those who were able to help during the flooding crisis and for those who helped get the rooms back in order.

If you are like us, you are ready to get out from the cold and enjoy the anticipated 70 degree temperature on Sunday! Please join us this Sunday for the regular offering of classes for all ages (including adults), which begin at 9:30 a.m.

Also, you don’t want to miss the 10:45 a.m. service. We are excited to have Dr. Steve Strauss, Professor of World Missions and Intercultural Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, join us. As a precursor to our study in Hebrews 7, Dr. Strauss will speak from Genesis 14.

After the morning service, we will continue in a time of fellowship.

We are excited to be back with you again and look forward to our time of worship and fellowship with one another.

Blessings,
Centerpoint Staff

The Ultimate Cheeseburger

The Ultimate Vacation

The Ultimate Video Game…

In our world of marketing hype, the word ultimate often signals an opinion that cannot be substantiated. It is a claim to superiority or supremacy that we suspect is more hot air than reality. But with Jesus, the word ultimate provides an apt description.

In the coming months at Centerpoint, our focus turns to The Ultimate Jesus. We will learn of His amazing sacrifice for His people. We will be struck with wonder as we grasp how He includes us in His glorious future. And we will be warned to draw close to Him, lest we suffer sobering consequences.

In this world that claims there are ultimate cheeseburgers but no single person who can draw us to God, we need to ponder the ultimate Jesus. You will want to join us for this sermon series, beginning Sunday, September 5th and continuing through the fall. (For an advance peak, read the book of Hebrews.)

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: `The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’” Luke 24:1-7

The church is now using Google Calendar for all events. This means that the event listing on our website will be much more up-to-date. We can plan events far in advance and they will always show up on our website calendar correctly.

Rather than checking the website regularly for changes you might be able to “subscribe” to our calendar and have the appointments show up in your favorite calendar program on your personal computer!

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2007, choose [Tools] – [Account Settings] and click the [Internet Calendars] tab. Now type in this calendar address: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/office@centerpointmesquite.org/public/basic.ics

If you are using a mac, you can subscribe to our calendar so our events will show up in the mac calendar application called iCal. In iCal click on the Menu [Calendar] – [Subscribe...] In the calendar URL field type this address: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/office@centerpointmesquite.org/public/basic.ics

Just one more way we want to help you stay connected to the church.
