Sermon: Missing Out on the Kingdom of God

Heartbeat for the Kingdom – Missing Out on the Kingdom of God

When the King comes to set up His Kingdom He will say to many who expect to enter, “I never knew you”. We don’t to be among those who miss out on the Kingdom of God. Who is it that will miss out? How can we be sure we don’t? Matthew 7:13-23

Sermon: Receiving and Reflecting the King’s Heartbeat

Heartbeat for the Kingdom – Receiving and Reflecting the King’s Heartbeat

Some scripture is so familiar, everyone know’s it.  If you watch TV or attended a public event, you have most likely seen banners or posters with JOHN 3:16 for the cameras to pick-up.  Virtually anyone can quote, “For God so loved the world…”.  Matthew 7:7-12 gives us two more of the most well known and popular phrases quoted, and sometimes mis-quoted, by Christians.  But, what was on our King’s heart as he taught his disciples these lessons?  What does this scripture provide for us as we seek a heartbeat for the Kingdom? Even today in our mass media world, context is everything when trying to understand what is reported.  Here, we can find the context to help us in our goal of Living for Jesus.

Easter Message: “Living in Light of the Resurrection”

Easter Message: Living in Light of the Resurrection

How should we live in light of His resurrection? On this Easter Sunday we will celebrate in traditional ways: Candy and feasts! What a delight! But the external act of eating is symbolic of something very real and internal. How should we really respond to the King being alive? How does the King want us to live in light of His resurrection? Let’s explore the possibilities.

HE IS RISEN!

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: `The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’” Luke 24:1-7

Sermon: How to be a Good Judge

Heartbeat for the Kingdom – How to be a Good Judge

We don’t normally think we have a responsibility to judge but as rulers of the Kingdom for the King this is our responsibility.  But we need to do it well without being judgmental or indiscriminate.  In Mt 7:1-6 the King tells us how to carefully succeed as good judges.
